Award to PSCST Scientist at   2^nd Chandigarh Science Congress

          2^nd Chandigarh Science Congress was organized at Panjab University, Chandigarh on 14^th & 15^th March, 2008. Scientific papers were invited under 14 Sections for oral and poster presentation during the event. Environment Division of PSCST contributed two papers as under:

1.       Section H : Environmental Sciences
Paper Title:  “Management of Ramsar sites: A case study of Punjab”
Authors: Dr. N.S. Tiwana, Dr. Neelima Jearth, Dr. S.K Saxena and Vivek  Sharma

 2.      Section N :Plant, Agriculture and Rural Development
Paper Title:  “Punjab Agriculture: An Ecological Appraisal &   Alternatives”
Authors: Dr. N.S. Tiwana, Dr. Neelima Jearth and Gurharminder Singh

                 The paper titled “Punjab Agriculture: An Ecological Appraisal & Alternatives”, presented by Mr. Gurharminder Singh, Scientist, PSCST in Section N, bagged the first prize in oral presentation category. The scientist was awarded a certificate and memento by Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Union Minister of State for Finance, Govt. of India, at the occasion.
