5. Organization of COSMID : 2003 – A Festival of Biotechnology

GGDSD College, Chandigarh in collaboration with the council and AIBA ( Northern Chapter ) had organized COSMID : 2003 – a Festival of Biotechnology on 22.08.2003. The programme included orientation lectures by three eminent speakers viz. Dr. Naresh Kumar, Scientist-G, IMTECH on ‘Biotech HRD Programmes in India’ ; Dr. Kulvinder Singh Saini, Director, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Ranbaxy Research Lab on ‘Scope of Biotechnology in Pharmaceutical Industry’ and Dr. Arvind Kapoor, Managing Director, Nunhems Proagro Seeds (P) Ltd. On ‘Agroprocessing through post harvest – value addition’. The lectures were followed by quiz, group discussion, on –the –spot poster making , collage making , scientific plays and an exhibitions of biotech products. The teams from 18 educational institutions participated in various events organized during the festival and the programme generated lot of enthusiasm among biotech students.
