AIR POLLUTION CONTROL IN RICE SHELLERS
The technology comprises a dust containment system that contains emissions from various unit operations by installing suitable hoods/enclosures while ensuring their workability followed by a simple high efficiency cyclone for the control of dust emissions

Salient features of technology :
-
Suitable hoods/ enclosures for effective suction of particulate matter.
-
Technology based on computer-aided design (CAD) of high efficiency cyclone separator.
-
Cyclone separator having typical 1800 involutes entry.
-
No additional motor required.
-
Requires minimal maintenance vis-à-vis filter bags and wet scrubbers.
-
Considerable increase in the life of rubber rolls fitted inside the paddy huskers due to reduction in friction.
-
Improvement in quality of rice bran.
-
Dust Collection Efficiency : More than 90%
-
Cost of system : Rs.60,000/-
-
Pay back period : Less than one Shelling Season
Technology replicated in
1000 units.
