5. Technology Upgradation
RICE SHELLER
Department of science and Technology, DST
sanctioned a project entitled “Development of Efficient Rice
Shelling Technologies”. The following four equipments were got
installed in a rice sheller of M/s Ram Sarup Subhash Chand Rice
Mills, Tanda, Distt. Hoshiarpur.
The performance of these equipments were studied
and it has been observed that there is a reduction of about 5%
broken rice thereby resulting in an addition income of about Rs.1. 5
lac per year to the industry.
Some of the other achievements of this project
are:

Developed linkages with progressive Rice
sheller owners, research associations and empanelled 25
fabrication houses.

Constituted core group of 15 rice sheller
owners for frequent interactions for bringing further improvements
in the existing rice milling technologies.
