1. Preparation of State Policy on Environment & Development and Guidelines for Development Departments

PSCST has prepared draft of the State Policy for environment and developmental guidelines for 14 development departments. The draft policy has been prepared in accordance with the draft of the Environmental Policy prepared by Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India. It identifies environmental issues requiring special attention in the State & actions taken and future needs w.r.t. environmental conservation and sustainable development. The Policy is based on the concept of promotion of sustainable development based on carrying capacity and the ‘Polluter Pays Principle.’ The draft policy was circulated to all development departments and their comments have been incorporated. The policy is under consideration of the Govt.
