1. Setting of Pushpa Gujral Science City (PGSC) at Jalandhar Kapurthala Road

In order to inculcate scientific temper amongst the younger citizens and general public of the State, the Pushpa Gujral Science City is being set up on 71 acres of land on the Jalandhar-Kapurthala road with the objective to present Science & Technology to the people through dramatic and thrilling experiences. The total cost of the project is Rs. 100 crores out of which Rs. 70 crores have been sanctioned by Department of Culture, Government of India and Rs. 30 crores in the form of developmental cost which is to be borne by Government of Punjab. The Science City project was conceived, prepared and got sanctioned by PSCST in 1997. The Council then initiated the architectural work, construction work of buildings, exhibit development, site development, internal work in the buildings, infrastructure etc. for Phase-I. The project is now being executed by Pushpa Gujral Science City Society.
