8. Survey studies on R&D requirements of Industries in Punjab & Chandigarh and to formulate strategies for promoting Institution-Industry linkages for technology development & transfer

PSCST has taken up a detailed survey on the  R & D requirement of industries in Punjab and Chandigarh. The importance of this study is evident from the fact that on one hand, industries require latest technologies to grow but are ignorant of R&D being carried out by Institutions in various fields, while on the other hand, there are R&D institutes that show high scientific excellence but, being imperfectly oriented towards users and lacking a good delivery mechanism, cannot utilize their R&D outputs.  Efforts have been made to suggest strategies for promoting institution-industry technology transfer so as to strengthen such linkages and to properly utilize the outcome of R&D. This project was sanctioned by NSTMIS, DST, GOI .The project has been completed and report submitted to DST, GOI .

Earlier the Council had undertaken a project titled "Database of Exramural & Intramural R & D Projects  in Punjab & Chandigarh (1997-2002) with support from NSTMIS, DST, GOI.  The project has been successfully completed.
