9. Project Root & Shoot:

This project aims at enhancing children’s fascination for the things around them and encourage and guide them to explore the environment by themselves so as to develop a curiosity and a holistic understanding about nature in general and local   ecosystem in particular. The children are also being trained to identify, collect, preserve & compile the plantation data in the record books. Tree record books developed by NCSTC and PSCST have been made available to the groups for information, reference material & record keeping. The students will nurture saplings for at least one year. This project was implemented in 30 schools of District Sangrur in Punjab. Further, the project is now being replicated in districts Ropar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and Muktsar.
