1. Installation of Meteorological Satellite Ground Receiving Station

The objective of the project was preparation of weather advisory bulletins to increase crop yield on the basis of infrared & white light pictures from INSAT-B, interpret cloud pictures in preparing weather advisory & improve accuracy of weather forecast to increase crop yield.

Weather bulletins were regularly presented in Mera Pind Mere Khet programme from the Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar for the benefits of farmers. Some of the bulletins were also broadcast from AIR-Jalandhar for the Dehati programme. The project was implemented by PAU-Ludhiana.
