3. Study of Groundwater Pollution in Ludhiana area

Ground water pollution has already been reported in Ludhiana area. Ground water from upper aquifers being tapped by hand pumps and shallow tubewells upto 50m depth is contaminated with hexavalent chromium and cyanide. Temporal changes in the concentration of chromium and cyanide are being studied regularly.
